WHERE WILL OUR SESSION BE HELD?
Signature Sessions take place at a location of your choice, either at your home, an outdoor natural setting, or an urban setting within Philadelphia and the surrounding region. Sprout Sessions take place at a pre-determined location chosen by the studio. Please sign up for our mailing list (on the bottom right) to get the most up to date information on upcoming Sprout Sessions.
HOW SHOULD I DRESS MY CHILDREN?
The most important thing is to dress your child in something they like. Most clients like to do a couple of different looks, so feel free to choose a few outfits. If you’re feeling inspired, it’s always fun to add accessories, like hats, jewelry, ties, scarves, legwarmers, suspenders, super-hero capes, etc… Layers and contrast look great, vests, funky boots, vintage looks, be creative and have fun! If you need some inspiration, check out Crewcuts, Tea Collection, Knuckleheads, and Matilda Jane Clothing. You can also find some great hand-made stuff by doing a search on Etsy!
WHAT CAN PARENTS CAN DO TO HELP?
Relax and go with the flow. Each family is unique and each session unfolds in it’s own unique way. I’m not interested in capturing images of forced smiles and ‘perfectly pressed’ children. If things get a little silly or messy, don’t worry; it’s okay! If your child is feeling shy, I may ask for a few moments to work with them alone. Trust my ability to connect with your child. Often this is when we get our best images, when they’re not feeling pressured to perform.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
In the case of inclement weather, we’ll stay in touch as the day unfolds. If we decide that the weather is not suitable for your session, we will reschedule your session to another day.
WHAT IF I MY CHILD IS SICK?
Please let me know as soon as possible if your child comes down with an illness. As a parent, I know all too well that children get sick and that a sick child is not a happy child. No need to force the session, we’ll reschedule when they are feeling better.
WHEN WILL OUR PROOF GALLERY BE READY?
Your session images will be available for viewing within about 3 weeks of your portrait session. Once your gallery is listed, you will have 7 days to review your images and place your order.
HOW MANY IMAGES WILL I HAVE TO CHOOSE FROM?
For Signature Sessions, you will typically have somewhere between 40 and 60 final images to choose from. For Sprout Sessions there will be somewhere between 15 and 25 final images.
CAN YOU HELP ME CHOOSE HOW TO DECORATE WITH MY IMAGES?
Yes, I am happy to offer in-person ordering consultations. These are held at your home to allow us to look around and decide where and how to best display your images to match your decorating style. I will bring samples of our product line for you to see as well.
CAN I BUY DIGITAL FILES FROM THE SESSION?
Yes, the digital files are available as a complete set for and include a 5×7 color print of each pose in your gallery. Files are sized for printing up to 8×10, and enlargements beyond this size must be printed through the studio. Individual digital files are also available, once a print purchase of $300 has been met.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I PLAN TO INVEST?
Our average purchase for a Signature Session is about $1500, with some people spending much less, and some spending much more. We offer portraits a la carte so you can choose exactly what you want, or you may choose from our portrait collections starting at $950, which offer our most popular products grouped together for a considerable savings.
